How NEBOSH IGC Is Assessed?
The NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) is assessed through two main components: a written examination (IG1) and a risk assessment report (IG2). Here’s an overview of each:
IG1 Exam: A scenario based open book exam through NEBOSH portal to check your knowledge. 24 hours are provided to leaners to solve this exam. After this exam, NEBOSH closing interview is scheduled. The purpose of closing interview is to verify your identity and to assure that the exam was attempted by yourself without any external help. A grade is awarded for IG1 which depends on how well you do in the exam.
- Pass: 45-64 marks
- Credit: 65-74 marks
- Distinction: 75+ marks
IG2 Exam: Candidates are required to choose a workplace scenario including a description of the workplace to conduct a risk assessment and write a report outlining their findings and recommendations. The candidates will be given 10 days after the submission of IG1 exam to submit risk assessment by email according to deadline. IG2 is marked either a pass or refer (fail).
NOTE: To achieve NEBOSH International General Certificate, you must pass both IG1 & IG2.
